What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the Shocker Hitch XR Adjustable Ball Mount. It's gonna come with a two inch ball in the drop position. You're gonna be able to adjust it up and down. Wherever you need it for your truck and trailer. Let's check it out.
Right away the gross towing weight on our two inch ball is gonna be 10,000 pounds. And it's gonna have a tongue weight rating of a thousand pounds. So just keep that in mind with what trailer you're gonna tow with it. Also, keep in mind with the assembly and the hitch go with the lowest number, so you don't damage anything. The whole point of getting an adjustable ball mount is so you can adjust it up and down.
If you have different trailers, at different heights. It's really easy to do this. I've already pulled the clips on this side but I'll pull the pins right now. It's in the seven and a half inch drop position. So, that's as low as it can go.
So, we'll pull these pins out. We'll bring it up here. Now, this is gonna be a three and a half inch drop. But, really to adjust. Line up those pins and get 'em back into place.
And just get this where you need it to hook up everything safely. With the assembly flipped upside down. You can get the ball level but you don't get much of a rise. If that's what something you're looking for, I would suggest, looking at the Shocker Hitch Two Ball set up. That way you can get a rise and drop. The whole assemblies made out of a cold rolled steel, with a black powder coat finish on there. So, it's UV resistant and will hold up to the elements, if you leave it in the back of your truck all the time, you should be fine. The ball itself is gonna be zinc plated with the chrome finish. So, it'll also hold up. You might see some scratches on it a little bit wear and tear when you hook it up to a trailer, but that just happens. Something you can do to help out with the chrome ball. Is you can put some grease on there before you attach it to your trailer and that'll help protect it a little bit. Another thing is the pins are really nice got the big handles on there. So, it's easy to pull that out and swap out accessories. If you have some other Shocker Hitch accessories like a pintle hook you want to use you gotta buy a whole new assembly. You can swap that out and use that. I would recommend though, if you do have multiple accessories, or if you just wanna protect the accessories got in there. There is locking pins you can get and they will have some. That work the same way as this, except it doesn't lock. So, it'd be nice to just lock that up. So, nobody can mess with this when they're not around. The Shocker Hitch does not come with a hitch pin. So, you'll have to pick one of those up separately. I suggest getting a locking one for that as well. Even if you don't get the pins that lock here. I would get a hitch pin lock. They got an etrailer one you can see on their website. So again, you can lock this up. Nobody can take the assembly out. Overall. The Shocker Hitch makes a variety of different kinds of the adjustable ball mounts. There's the XRC, and then the Air. They have a little bit more cushion for what they usually do. This one is just gonna be the standard one. Still awesome to have an adjustable ball mount. Especially, if you have those different trailers. And you don't wanna have to get a bunch of different assemblies and throw 'em in the back of the truck. Constantly take them out, swap 'em out when you need to swap trailers. It's so much easier just to swap out the accessory for what you need to get going. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

Tow a variety of trailers with this rugged ball mount that features 7-1/2" of drop. Compatible with all Shocker Hitch accessories, including pintle hook, clevis pin, and drawbar attachments, for plenty of towing versatility. The hitch is great and it actually got here 3 days early.. I have not pulled our trailer with it yet. The hitch came with some small cosmetic scratches on it. I contacted Steve at etrailer and sent some photos. He apologized for how it was received And is going to send a credit back to my method of payment so I can buy some rust proof paint to touch it up. That is outstanding customer service and greatly appreciated. I will purchase any and all of my future trailer needs from etrailer.
It was a pleasure doing business with etrailer. Initially, I had some problems getting the correct size hitch, but worked with etrailer and they made sure everything was taken care of and to my satisfaction.
I would use etrailer again without hesitation.
